Unseen Images from Martin Luther King Assasination

LIFE.com this week launched their new Photo Archive, making public thousands of images from LIFE magazine, including some never published. Included in the collection are these unpublished images from the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tennessee, taken on April 4, 1968, hours after the shooting.

The publication of this incredible resource by Time/Life is an amazing gift, especially as so many other companies try unsuccessfully to lock up content in pursuit of “monetization.” I’ll certainly be back to enjoy this archive again and again.
